Penang (18-22 July 2019)

My kids are really lucky. This is their first budget flight experience. Just a short 1hr plus. Before that Ceyan still thinking of the show he want to watch onboard. But too bad, there is no screen and don't have his favourite apple juice too..

The flight on scoot was quite pleasant. Taking and landing are smooth.. By the time we reach apartment was already almost 10pm. Staying in 68pg @ sunrise gurney. Facing the sea. Quite relaxing. But the toilet has no ventilation.. There is a smell coming out the aircon. But other than these, the stay was quite pleasant. Oh not forgetting when I showering for Ceyan the first night, suddenly no water, i have to bring him upstairs to the other toilet. We had supper at the song River coffeeshop just across the road of our apartment. The chicken wings and oyster omelette are very nice.

Day 2
Breakfast at some local coffee shop. Didnt get to note down the address.. Lor mee quite nice and fav is ah pom (pancake alike)..

Head off to penang Hill as it is said that weather is perfect. Cloudy and bright. We took the tram up the hill.. Not too crowded yet. Quite cooling at the top.. There are things to see along the street. And a playground for kids...

Lunch is simple... Durians!! The main purpose for going to Penang... So yummy. And i am so glad that both my kids love durians... The place is called durian kaki and there is horse deep in. Smelly and alot of mosquitos. But of course the durians are fantastic. Ate until too full... So just go queensbay shopping mall to r and r... A huge shopping mall. We didn't get to shop as everyone is too tired and we are stuck at the children play area for too long. The vehicles there are huge and fanciful. Even I can fit into any of them..

Dinner at sungei pinang.. Looks like our Newton circle and chomp chomp. But the food quality is so much better in Penang. The big bbq squid, the satay, the bbq eggplant, etc... These are the things that i dont usually but love it there..

Day 3
Dim sum place for brunch.. The whole coffee shop is selling dim sum in the day. They have many many types of dim sum and most are yummy. Cheap and good... It is called dim sum king...

A day for my kids. Komtar... There a place for kids to play. A few different levels with different attractions in that building. The day ticket with unlimited attractions is rm99 per pax.. There is dino research ctr although not very real... Is an eye opener for kids.. Carousel, 7d show, indoor playground, bumper cars, aquarium, observation deck, skywalk, etc... Unlimited access.. Our 2hrs there is definitely not enough.

But we are heading off to the mainland for seafood dinner... The quality was alright. The drive was long as compared to previously. Caylen got grumpy towards the end of the day. Squeezing in the Last row of a mpv is not simple... Shag day

Day 4
Went to the famous temple called ji le si and took the tram up to see the bronze Buddha. There is an very interesting wishing strip for kids, designed with cartoon and fairy tales characters.. It was a really hot day and I have to babywear caylen up all the stairs. We had vegetarians food at the basement of the temple... It was good and cheap... A set menu for 8 to 10 pax is only rm168..

We also went to the chew bridge said to be people staying there has the surname chew. Alot of souvenir shop and food.. We had durian chendol, durian crepe and durian pancake in one of the stalls. Very yummy. I think that is the first time I think chendol is nice... Kind of loving it now..

Move on to dinner near aiport as after that got to send hubby to the aiport.. He went back 1 day before us.. I stayed on with his family. The famous fish soup place open at 6pm sharp.. We arrived about 15mins early and there are already cars parking there waiting for it to open...

Day 5
Last day in Penang... Bf back at the song River cafe. Friend recommended the fish soup and i tried. Not bad. So far most food that we ate are nice and I really love the food there.. The only thing that I don't like provably is the squeezing in the last row of the estima.. After checking out, head off to the nearby sleeping Buddha temple. Then to the famous street art area and tried the famous street chendol. We all felt that the durian chendol we had at chew Bridge is tastier...

Ate some pastry too then off we go to packet durians... Then to dinner place. All we do is eat... As it was quite early and not sure what else to do we go straight to pisa corner the dinner place.. We were there since 5pm ordered the famous drink, ambala sour plum drink and kill time there. Until almost 6pm den we start eating our dinner before heading to the airport.. The claypot rice was so so only. Not very nice..
